Dr. George Atia
Dr. Atia started his private practice in 2002 and it has been rapidly growing ever since. He completed his fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago and has also completed advanced training in ERCP and EUS. Dr. Atia is the founder and medical director of the Illinois Center for Digestive and Liver Health.
Dr. Antwan Atia
Dr. Antwan Atia finished his Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He did his Gastroenterology fellowship and was Chief Resident at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago Illinois, and Dr. Atia also has a Masters of Public Health Informatics from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Atia is certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He also holds memberships in the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
Dr. Atia has published 10 articles in journals and has made several presentations on Gastroenterology at national conventions.
Dr. Antwan Atia’s areas of specialty include; colon cancer screening, acid reflux management, inflammatory bowel disease, Chronic Hepatitis, Cirrhosis and Chronic Liver Disease, and he had exceptional training in the management of complicated pancreatic and biliary diseases.
Dr. Atia is married and has a son and a daughter. In his free time, he enjoys swimming with his son, playing soccer with his daughter, and volunteering at his local church. He is currently accepting new patients.
Dr. Stacey L McKelvey MD
Dr. Stacey L McKelvey MD has more than a decade of experience as a board certified specialist in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. She practices general Gastroenterology including esophageal disease, celiac disease, colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, and functional diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Dr. McKelvey graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, earning dual degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She completed medical school, her residency in internal medicine, and her gastroenterology fellowship at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She remained on staff after completing her fellowship and trained residents and fellows in endoscopy and other clinical aspects of gastroenterology. In 2006, she moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where she joined Princeton Gastroenterology and served on staff at the University Hospital at Princeton. In 2014, Dr. McKelvey relocated to the Midwest with her husband and three children to be closer to her extended family. She spends her time hiking, biking and raising her very energetic children.

After completing fellowship training, Dr. Kailas worked in private practice at a multi-specialty clinic in WI. In addition to patient care, during this time she was active within the medical staff at the St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac and was asked to serve on many Medical Executive Committees including being Chief of Staff. In addition she served an 8 year term on Wisconsin Medical Examining Board including 2 years Chair. Other professional activities included a 7 year term on USMLE Management Committee , a 2 year term with FSMB Nominating Committee, multiple leadership positions with the Fond du Lac Chapter of WI Medical Society , multiple years at St. Agnes Hospital Foundation and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Fond du Lac to name a few. She is recognized in the community both for her professional work and other community engagements.
She enjoys biking, swimming, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is passionate about providing the best care to her patients and becomes ecstatic when a sick patient recovers and comes back to see her in the clinic healthy and happy. She prides in listening to her patients rather than track data and numbers only and is quite approachable
Dr. Zeid Karasheh MD
Dr. Karadsheh is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology with special training in Interventional Endoscopy. He completed his internal medicine residency at New York Medical College- Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He then completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. He developed special interest in pancreatic and biliary diseases and pursued an advanced endoscopy training at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital before joining the Illinois Center for Digestive and Liver Health. Dr. Karadsheh has been involved in numerous research and publications in the field of advanced endoscopy.
His areas of specialty include colon cancer screening, Barrett’s esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease and management of complicated pancreatic and biliary diseases.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Karadsheh lives in downtown Chicago and is a fan of European soccer and outside activities. He and his wife enjoy travelling and exploring different cultures and new restaurants.
Dr. Kumkum Sarkar Patel MD, MPH
Dr. Kumkum Sarkar Patel graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a Master degree in Public Health from Dartmouth medical school at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and went on to get her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at NYU Winthrop Hospital and then went on to Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Patel practices general Gastroenterology and has a special interest in functional bowel disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, and upper and lower G.I. motility issues. She spent additional dedicated time completing motility training at Washington University in St. Louis through the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society. She is a very energetic and enthusiastic physician. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, and singing a cappella.
Cathleen Pelletreau FNP-BC
Cathleen Pelletreau, FNP-BC, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Cathleen graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2010 from Lakeview College of Nursing where she was inducted into the National Honor Society of Nursing for both her high grades and leadership roles. She went on to work for a year as a floor nurse on a Medical-Surgical floor, followed by 4 years as a Charge Nurse in a Level-1 Trauma Intensive Care Unit. While working in the ICU, Cathleen went back to school to further her education as an Advanced Practice Nurse. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Nursing in April 2015 from Resurrection University and became a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner August 2015 through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Additionally, Cathleen is Board Certified in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN). On her days off Cathleen enjoys spending time at home with her husband and daughter.
Nileena Pathadan, FNP-BC
Nileena Pathadan, FNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Nileena graduated with first class in her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. She has been working as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular unit for the past seven years. She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2016 from Governors State University. She became board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She lives in North Chicago Suburb with her husband and three children.
Dr. Woodlyne Roquiz
Dr. Woodlyne Roquiz is the Director of the ICDLH Pathology Laboratory. She is triple board-certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic, Clinical, and Hematologic pathology. She completed her fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA and in Hematopathology at Oakland University William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.
Throughout her career, she has contributed to the field of pathology by authoring chapters in academic texts and numerous research publications in gastroenterology, breast pathology, cytology, and hematopathology. She is also a member the College of American Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Roquiz received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA and completed her pathology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. As a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, she is excited to return to the Chicago-area to provide quality patient care.
Carol Taylor, FNP-BC
Carol Taylor, FNP-BC, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, who graduated from Lewis University with her Master’s Degree in Nursing. She received highest honors for her grades and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, which is the international Honor Society for Nursing. She became board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in December 2018. She became a Registered Nurse in 2000, and has worked in Endoscopy and Gastroenterology for 18 years. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter and family, cooking, being outside, and traveling.
